All in all - had a good 1 night stay. An electric kettle, central heating and an iron inside the suite were handy. The offered breakfast was satisfactory and included lots of options. Apart from that, Round House was 15 minutes' drive away. It was fairly clean, I would stay here again.

The room was very claustrophobic with not enough air or light coming through the very small windows

Hotel is very run down, rooms are dreary and carpet very worn. Bathroom clean but basic and old fashioned with lino floor!! Would not recommend this to anyone

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor was relaxing, good parking, food ok
The room was too hot (no heating on though), the barman didn't appear well informed about how to serve different drinks (although he was polite and friendly)

Staff were excellent as was the food
The warmth and stuffiness of the rooms - the sash windows were old and would not stay open. The TV did not work properly - no BBC programmes were available. A notice on the door asked for understanding for the refurbishment which it said was ongoing, but we saw no sign of it. Being adjacent to the road meant the room was very noisy at night

Allocation of the Riverside "Honeymoon" Suite with its space to spare & everything I needed to work in the room was the best part, followed closely by the excellent smoked salmon & scrambled egg breakfast
The whole hotel is in need of an upgrade & a touch of tlc, but nothing presented me with a problem
